Calling it a product that will highlight the mutually supportive relations between Japan and the Philippines, Ganapati announced plans to release a Manny Pacquiao-themed slot game in September this year, with proceeds to be channelled to the legendary boxer’s foundation, which supports children’s education in the Philippines.
The game will feature imagery of Pacquiao inspired by his infamous boxing talent.
Pacquiao was elected to the Philippine Senate in 2016 and has firmly established himself as a leading figure in politics, alongside his long-standing role as the “People’s Champion.”
“This opportunity is extremely exciting for us as it represents Ganapati’s considerable growth within the industry,” said Juliet Adelstein, chief executive officer of Ganapati Europe. “We’re delighted to be involved in this project with the octuple champion Manny Pacquiao, a true global superstar. It is wonderful to know the extent to which Ganapati is now being recognized in the industry.”
Hayato Terai, chief legal officer of Ganapati, said Pacquiao was renowned for facing his opponents without fear. “Manny Pacquiao is the most successful and respected athlete in Asia and an incredibly skilled and determined politician. It is an honor to be able to produce his official game.”
Ganapati was founded in Japan in 2013 and spent its first few years focused on mobile apps for the domestic Japanese market, but in December 2016, the online gaming division was established in Malta. (AGB)
