Genting Singapore has announced the promotion of Nanami Kasasaki to chief corporate officer, effective from May 31, a move which may represent the greater priority the firm is putting on gaining an IR license in Japan.
Kasasaki joined Genting in 2008 and has held various positions related to corporate planning and corporate finance. For well over a decade she has been the representative director for Genting International Japan.
In her new position, she is expected to “assist the president and chief operating officer in the formulation of strategic development for the group’s investment projects, mergers and acquisitions, and new business opportunities; as well as oversee the group’s corporate functions.”
In April, Genting Singapore Chairman Lim Kok Thay revealed at a shareholders meeting that the company would make multiple IR bids in Japan, both in major urban and regional markets. (AGB Nippon)
