Galaxy Entertainment Group and Melco Resorts & Entertainment were recognized at the 12th International Gaming Awards held in London last week.
Galaxy was named “Casino Operator of the Year Australia/Asia,” and it is the fifth time that Galaxy has received this award.
In addition, the group won the “Integrated Resort of the Year” award for the third year running. It also marks the eighth consecutive year that Galaxy has been honored by the International Gaming Awards.
Francis Lui, vice-chairman of Galaxy, said, “The International Gaming Awards are a global recognition of Galaxy’s efforts and achievements throughout the years. Galaxy is now a world-renowned brand in the resort industry. We will continue to deliver quality product offerings and memorable customer experiences to our guests across our properties in Macau. Additionally, we are committed to promoting our brand around the world through our expansion plans, such as Hengqin and Japan.”
Melco Resorts & Entertainment was named socially-responsible operator of the year for the land-based sector. Akiko Takahashi, executive vice-president and chief officer of human resources and corporate social responsibility, received the award on behalf of Melco at the ceremony.
“Responsible gaming has been and continues to be a top priority for Melco,” CEO Lawrence Ho said. “We are thrilled to receive this award from the International Gaming Awards as a testament to the efforts we dedicate to this highly significant focus area as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility, and would like to take this opportunity to thank the organizers and our employees who made this achievement possible.” (AGB)
