UK-listed gaming supplier Playtech has become the monopoly provider of Random Number Generator (RNG) casino games in Philippines, after gaining PAGCOR’s first and only Gaming Software Provider certification, Calvin Ayre reports.
In a memorandum dated September 26 and obtained by Calvin Ayre, PAGCOR announced that Montford Inc. has been certified as a Gaming Software Provider for Philippine Offshore Gambling Operator (POGO) licensees.
In the announcement, Montford was described as “a distributor of RNG-based games developed by Playtech.”
PAGCOR said that, “to date, only Montford Inc. has been issued an accreditation and authority to operate as a Gaming Software Provider. Thus, only the RNG-based games distributed by Montford are allowed to be used by our POGO licensees.”
PAGCOR said that the restriction was effective immediately, and that any POGO licensees found using games from an unauthorized service provider, or engaging an unaccredited gaming software provider, shall be “imposed the corresponding demerits and administrative penalties.”
The regulator did not indicate whether it intends to issue accreditation to other RNG game providers. (AGB)
