Melco Resorts & Entertainment has opened Southeast Asia’s first Bandai Namco Virtual Reality gaming facility at its City of Dreams Manila IR in the Philippines.
The Macau-based operator is pushing for a license in Japan and has also pledged high-tech offerings should it be successful, saying an eSports facility is likely to be central to the design of any IR that it develops.
The Manila facility is known at “The Garage.”
With a space of 2,714 square meters, the attraction is the first of its kind in the Philippines, merging VR gaming recreation with dining.
The zone will feature three immersive VR games from Bandai Namco, and ten crowd favorite food and beverage restaurants via food trucks.
The VR and dining facility is designed by Paris-based creative design agency Malherbe Design and features graffiti art by street artists Kookoo Ramos and DeeJae Paeste.
“With Bandai Namco’s creativity and cutting-edge technology, we are honored and delighted to partner with them, and together blaze a trail in delivering extraordinary entertainment experiences that go beyond gaming and recreation in the Philippines,” Kevin Benning, City of Dreams Manila’s chief operating officer said.
