Profile: Toyama was first elected as a national lawmaker of the Komeito Party in 2001, and has since become one of the most outspoken figures in the party. Known as a strong advocate of the establishment of IRs, he became the chairman of the party’s newly-formed IR Project Team in July 2017.
On Saturday the Hong Kong investment firm Oshidori International Holdings organized a high-powered event in Fukuoka with the apparent objective of forming the consortium which will partner with Nagasaki Prefecture to build an IR at the Huis Ten Bosch theme park.

The event brought together government officials, IR operators, analysts, and others for an intensive day-long event last Wednesday.
