Universal Entertainment saw its net sales increase 12.9% to 52.5 billion yen (about US$495 million) in the first half of 2019, boosted mainly by growth across all segments at Okada Manila.
Net sales from its IR business in the Philippines increased 45.2% year-on-year, reaching 31.4 billion yen (about US$296 million).
While its IR business did quite well, Universal recorded a decrease in net sales in its pachinko and pachislot business, as well as in its media content segment.
Looking ahead, Universal said it will aim to continue adding attractions and amenities at its Okada Manila property. The company expects VIP casino revenue to continue its growth with the addition of new junkets and more demand from existing junkets.
Regarding its pachinko business, Universal has released a number of new titles, hoping to increase its performance in this segment as well. (AGB)
