On Wednesday morning, police raided an illegal casino in Yokohama’s Naka Ward, the second such high-profile bust since July.
The illegal casino, run by 38-year-old Naoto Miyazaki, had two baccarat tables hidden behind a pair of heavy iron doors outfitted with security cameras on the third floor of a building. The shop operated without any signboard, and apparently without a name.
Aside from Miyazaki, another man and a woman were arrested.
The police reported that the income produced by the illegal casino was at least 90 million yen (about US$800,000) since it opened six months ago. At busy times, up to about ten patrons gambled at the casino.
It was not reported whether or not this casino had any links to yakuza groups. (AGB Nippon)
